11:1 Would to God ye could bear with me [G: suffer; B: have suffered: T: suffer me] a little in [G omits] my folly: and indeed [T: yea and I pray you] bear with [G: ye suffer; B: ye do forbear; T: forbear] me.

11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to [G: prepared you for; BT: coupled you to] one husband [BT: man], that I may [GBT: to] present [T: make] you as [BT omit] a chaste virgin to Christ.

11:3 But I fear, lest by any means [GT omit; B: +that], as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, [BT: +even] so your minds should be corrupted [GT: corrupt] from the simplicity [BT: singleness] that is in [T: toward] Christ.

11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not [T: than him whom we] preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which [GB: whom; T: than that which] ye have not [T omits] received, or [GBT: either] another gospel, which ye have not [T: than that ye have] accepted [GBT: received], ye might well bear with him [GB: might (B: would) well have suffered him; T: might right well have been content].

11:5 For [GB: Verily T omits] I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest [G: inferior to the ver chief; BT: behind the chief] apostles.

11:6 But [G: And; T omits] though I be rude in speech [GBT: speaking], yet not [GT: I am not so] in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things [G: but among you we have been made manifest to the uttermost, in all things; B: but in all things among you, we have been well known to the utmost; T: How be it among you we are known to the utmost what we are in all things].

11:7 Have I committed an offence [BT: Did I (B: +therein) sin] in abasing [G: because I abased; BT: because I submitted] myself that ye might be exalted, [GBT: +and] because I have [GBT omit] preached to you the gospel of God freely?

11:8 I robbed other churches [T: congregations], taking [GT: and took] wages of them, to do you service [T: +withal].

11:9 And when I was present with you, and wanted [GBT: had need], I was chargeable to no [G: not slothful to the hindrance of any; T: grievous to no] man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept [G: kept and will keep; T: kept] myself from being burdensome unto you [GT: that I should not be grievous to you; B: so that I should not be chargeable to any man], and so will I keep myself [G omits].

11:10 As [GB omit; T: If] the truth of Christ is [T: be] in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting [GBT: that (T omits) this rejoicing shall not be shut up against% (T: taken from) me] in the regions of Achaia.

11:11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

11:12 But [T: Nevertheless] what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off [GBT: to cut away] occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we [GBT: they might be found like unto us in that wherein they rejoice% (B: gloried)].

11:13 For such are false apostles, [GBT: false apostles are] deceitful workers, transforming themselves into [G: and transform themselves into; B: transformed into; T: and fashion themselves like unto] the apostles of Christ.

11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into [T: changed into the fashion of] an angel of light.

11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if [GBT: though] his ministers also [GBT omit] be transformed as [GT: transform (T: fashion) themselves as though they were] the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works [T: deeds].

11:16 I say again, Let no [T: lest any] man think me a fool [GBT: that I am foolish]; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me [GBT: or else (BT: even now) take me (G + even) as a fool], that I [GB: +also] may boast myself a little.

11:17 That which [GBT omit] I speak, I speak it not after the [T: +ways of the] Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of [G: in this my great; B: in this manner of; T: while we are now come to] boasting.

11:18 Seeing that many glory [GT: rejoice (2x)] after the flesh, I will glory also.

11:19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing [GT: because that] ye yourselves [G omits] are wise.

11:20 For ye suffer, [GT: +even] if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you [BT omit], if a man take of you [G: your goods; BT omit], if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

11:21 I speak as concerning reproach [G: the reproach; T: rebuke], as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever [G: wherein] any is [GB: man is; T: man dare be] bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am [T: dare be] bold also.

11:22 Are they [GBT: They are (3x)] Hebrews? so [BT: even so (3x)] am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

11:23 Are they [GBT: They are the] ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent [GBT: prison more plenteously], in deaths oft.

11:24 Of the Jews five times received I [T: +every time] forty stripes save one.

11:25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I [GT: I was once; B: once] stoned, thrice I suffered [GT: I suffered thrice] shipwreck, a night and a day I have [GBT: night and day have I] been in the deep [G: +sea; B: depth; T: +of the sea];

11:26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils [T: jeopardies (2x)] by mine own countrymen [GBT: of mine own nation], in perils by [GBT among] the heathen [G: Gentiles; T: +I have been], in perils in the city [T: cities], in perils in the [GT omit] wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

11:27 In weariness and painfulness [BT: labour and travail], in watchings [GT: watching] often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and [GT: +in] nakedness.

11:28 Beside those [GBT: the] things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily [G: which are outward, I am cumbered daily, and have; B: which outwardly come unto me: my daily encumbrance is; T: which outwardly happen unto me I am combered daily and], the care of all the churches [T: do care for all congregations].

11:29 Who is weak [T: sick (2x), and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not [T: hurt in the faith and my heart burneth not]?

11:30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern [GT: rejoice, I will rejoice of] mine infirmities.

11:31 The God and [G: even the] Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

11:32 In [GT: the city of] Damascus the governor under Aretas the king [GT: the governor of the people under King Aretas; B: Aretas the king's governor of hte people] kept [GBT: laid watch] the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me [GBT: and would have caught me]:

11:33 And through [GBT: but (BT: and) at] a window in a basket was I let down by [GBT: was I let down in a basket through] the wall, and [T: +so] escaped his hands.

12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory [GT: for me no doubt to rejoice; B: doubtless, for me to glory]. [G +for; T +Nevertheless] I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

12:2 I knew [GT: I know; B: For I knew] a man in Christ above fourteen years ago [GT: agone], (whether [GBT +he were] in the body, I cannot tell; or whether [G: omits; BT +he were] out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught [GBT: which (B: that he) was taken] up to [BT: into] the third heaven.

12:3 And I knew [GT: know] such a [BT: the same] man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words [G" words which cannot be spoken; T: words not to be spoke], which it is not lawful for a man to [G: are not possible for man to; T: no man can] utter.

12:5 Of such an one [GBT: a man] will I glory: yet [GT: rejoice] of myself I will not glory, but in [GT: rejoice, except it be of] mine infirmities.

12:6 For [T: And yet] though I would desire to glory, I shall [GT: rejoice, I should] not be a fool; for I will [T: would] say the truth: but now I forbear [GB: but I (b +now) refrain; T: Nevertheless I spare] , lest any man should think of me above that which [GT omit] he seeth me to be [G: in me], or that he [T omits] heareth of me.

12:7 And lest I should be exalted above [GBT: out of (2x)] measure through the abundance of the [GT omit] revelations, there was given to me a thorn in [GB: a prick in% (B: to); T: unquietness of] the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should [GBT: because I should not] be exalted above measure.

12:8 For this thing I besought [GBT: besought I] the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength [G: power] is made perfect in [GT: through] weakness. Most [GT: Very] gladly therefore will I rather glory [G: rejoice rather; T: rejoice] in my infirmities, that the power [T: of my weakness that the strength] of Christ may rest upon [GBT: may (B: might) dwell in] me.

12:10 Therefore I take pleasure [BT: have I delectation] in infirmities, in reproaches [BT: rebukes], in necessities [T: need], in persecutions, in distresses [GT: anguish; B: anguishes] for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

12:11 I am become [G: was; T: am made] a fool in glorying [GT: to boast% (T: in boasting) myself]; ye have compelled me: for [T omits] I ought to have been commended of you: for in [B omits] nothing am I behind [GBT: was I inferior unto] the very chiefest [G: very chief; BT: chief] apostles, though I be nothing.

12:12 Truly [G omits;T: yet] the signs [T: tokens] of an apostle were wrought among you in [GT: with] all patience, in [GT: with; B: and] signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds [G: great works].

12:13 For what is it wherein ye were inferior to [GT: inferiours unto ] other churches [T: congregations], except it be [G omits] that I myself was not burdensome to you [G: have not been slothful to your hindrance: BT: was not chargeable% (T: grievous) unto you]? forgive me this wrong [T: +done unto you].

12:14 Behold, [BT +now] the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will [GBT: yet will I not] not be burdensome to you [G: slothful to your hindrance; B: chargeable unto you; T: grievous unto you]: for I seek not yours, but you: for [T: also] the children ought not to lay up for the parents [G: fathers (2x); BT: fathers and mothers (2x)], but the parents for the children.

12:15 And I will very [G: most] gladly spend and be spent for you [GBT: bestow and will be bestowed for your souls% B: sakes]; though the more abundantly [GT omit] I love you, the less I be loved [GBT: am loved; BT +again].

12:16 But be it so, [GBT: that] I did not burden you [G: charged you not; B: was not chargeable unto you; T: grieved you not]: nevertheless [G: yet], being [G: for as much as I was; B: when I was; T: I was] crafty, I caught [T: and took] you with guile.

12:17 Did I make a gain of [GBT: pill] you by any of them whom I sent unto you?

12:18 I [G +have] desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you [GBT: pill (BT: defraud) you of anything]? walked we not in the same [G: the selfsame; T: one] spirit? walked we [B omits] not in the same [T: like] steps?

12:19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you [T omits]? we speak before God in Christ [BT: in Christ in the sight of God]: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

12:20 For I fear, lest [T: +it come to pass that], when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be [T: +be found among you] debates, envyings, wraths, strifes [G: strife, envying, wrath, contentions], backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults [GT: and discord; B: and seditions]:

12:21 And lest [GT: I fear lest; B: And that], when I come again, my [T omits] God will humble me [G: abase me; BT: bring me low] among you, and that I shall [T: I be constrained to] bewail many [GBT: +of them] which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness [GBT: wantonness] which they have committed.

13:1 This is [G: Lo this is; BT: Now come I] the third time I am coming to [G: that I come unto; BT unto] you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established [GT: word (T: thing) stand].

13:2 I told you before, and foretell you [GBT: tell you before], as if I were [GB: though I had been; T: I said when I was] present [BT: +with you], the second time; and being absent now I write [GBT: so write I now being absent] to them which heretofore [BT: in time past] have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

13:3 Since [GBT: Seeing that] ye seek a proof [GBT: experience] of Christ speaking [GBT: that (BT: which) speaketh] in me, which to you-ward [G: toward you; T: among you] is not weak, but is mighty in you.

13:5 Examine [GT: Prove] yourselves, whether ye be [GBT: are] in the faith [T: +or not]; prove [GT: Examine] your own [G omits] selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates [T: castaways]?

13:6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates [T: castaways].

13:7 Now [B: Truly; T omits] I pray to [T: desire before] God that ye do no [GBT: none] evil; not that we should appear [GBT: seem] approved [T: commendable], but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates [T: and let us be coiunted as lewd persons].

13:8 For we can do nothing [G: not do anything] against the truth, but for the truth.

13:9 For [T omits] we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are [G: that ye are; T: ye] strong: and this also we wish [GT +for], even your perfection [T: that ye were perfect].

13:10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being [GBT: when I am] present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction [T: edify and not to destroy].

13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell [GT: fare ye well]. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

13:12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.

13:13 All the saints salute you.
